Launching the Ning

Hello, new staff and welcome to the SWA community.  

We have created a few online spaces and networks to help you assimilate easily and quickly to your life in Jakarta. The first is the Ning. Last year’s teachers found this space invaluable when it came to finding people with similar interests, and asking questions about housing, childcare, hobbies and more.

Simply sign into the Ning, create a profile and start meeting people. You can use the forums and discussions to ask questions and make requests. You can go through teacher profiles to see who we are and what we do.  Please use this space to connect with other incoming teachers, as well as to meet teachers already in Jakarta.

We have also created a collaborative classified page, where teachers will be selling goods and sharing resources using Google Docs.  Take a look and see if you can maybe get some of what you need before you arrive.
